Story of our
Jesus Christ
Two
thousand years ago, there lived a carpenter named Joseph in a small town of
Israel. Joseph had a fiancée named Mary. When they were about to get married,
an angel appeared to Mary
and
told her that that she would have a son and they should name him Jesus, for he
would save the people from their sins. So when
the time came,
Jesus
was born.
.
He wasn’t an ordinary child. When Jesus was born, angels appeared to a few
shepherds of Palestine and shared this good news.
When King Herod came to know that the Savior
was born, he ordered his soldiers to kill every child under 2 years of age. An
angel instructed Joseph and Mary to escape from that place
. Jesus grew up in the full wisdom of God.
When
Jesus was 12 years old, his parents noticed him spending time with religious
leaders and asking questions. He grew into an
adult, under discipline of his parents in Nazareth.
When Jesus turned 30, He went to the Jordan River and got baptized
.
Then he started to preach
the kingdom of God
and to heal all the sick
and to raise the dead back to life
. Once
when Jesus’ disciples were sailing in the Sea of Galilee, a huge storm hit
their boat. They were about to drown.
. But Jesus appeared on the scene, walking on water and
stepped in the boat.
Religious leaders and Pharisees didnt like Jesus. They were waiting for a
chance to trap Jesus. When Jesus knows that his mission in this earth was going
to end, He called his 12 disciples for his last
supper with them
. After the last supper, Jesus and his disciples went up to a mountain to pray.
Judas Iscariot, the one who was going to betray Jesus, came and kissed Him
. Religions leaders turn him over to the Roman ruler
and ask him to crucify Jesus.
Though there was no punishable offense of any kind in Jesus, the Roman ruler
ordered Jesus to be crucified. Roman soldiers beat Jesus,
whipped him, spat on his face and asked him to carry the cross all the way to
Golgotha
. But Jesus needed to die in this world, carrying our sins, so that we who
believe will have eternal life
. But just as
the Word says, Jesus was resurrected on the third day from his tomb
and appeared to many of His disciples
. Today He is sitting on the right hand side of God the father,
still listening to and answering your prayers
.
